her new phrases are, "i don't knooooow!" and "there it is." we need to get the, "i don't know" on video because it's the cutest thing you've ever heard. when we ask her where someone or something is, "i don't knoooooow!" and she does i-don't-know-hands.
she's in the shoe stage, wearing everyone's shoes all the time. she tries to wear flip-flops but doesn't want to put her toes in them correctly. she puts the shoes on her feet, curls up her toes and walks around.
layla has fantastic manners, always says thank you without being reminded. she's still into everything and hell bent on doing whatever it is she has decided to do!
we had to put a tent on her crib! i wasn't sure about this at first but it works wonderfully :-) when she started crawling out, we took the rail off and put a little bed rail on. the problem i was having was at nap time. she absolutely wouldn't stay in the bed to take a nap. this was a problem for us come 4 or 5PM! so, with the tent on, she's forced to stay in the bed and she's napping wonderfully again. she's also started stripping and often times we find her in the bed wearing only her diaper and her clothes have been thrown out onto the floor.
shae is very much into best friends. she'll ask layla, "want to be my best friend?" layla replies, "best friend!" and then shae will tell me she is being layla's best friend.
a few of shae's favorite things right now: painting fingernails and toenails, hello kitty, littlest pet shop and barbies. she's into clothes and shoes and actually picked little pet shop panties over a little pet shop toy the other day.
both of the little ones are doing very well in the pool. layla has no fear .. she isn't swimming yet but does (what i call) the nirvana baby. she spreads her arms and legs and just floats under the water and then tries to roll over onto her back. we have to keep twenty eyes on her because she will literally just walk into the pool. shae is swimming everywhere! she had a really good time at schlitterbahn in the 3' deep water. once she discovered she could go under and then stand up.. she was unstoppable: swimming, spinning under the water, taking slides on her belly, diving into the waves at the wave pool. she had a blast.
they both loved the killer whales at seaworld. layla says "look" with a "w" so it's "wook." we saw two shamu shows and layla just kept saying, "wooook. whoaaaa. wooook. whoaaaaa." shae learned that whales are mammals (not fish) and they breathe air (not water). they both loved the penguins and we had to go thru the penguin exhibit three times in a row.
tiara got to spend a week in nyc and new jersey with boys and girls harbor for their summer olympics. she came home with 4 gold and 2 silver medals. she had a great time, loved the city! she has a basketball camp coming up in a few weeks but is otherwise spending most of the summer at sylvan learning center. she continues to have a great attitude and is doing well.
we're heading back to new b. this weekend for 4th of July. we can't seem to get enough of swimming and relaxing!
